Dr Reginald Samuel M.Sc, Ph.D, B.L

President

Reginald is a New Zealand Citizen and worked in NZ Public Sector for nearly 20 years. Having worked as Environmental Resources Officer, Scientist, and Specialist, Reginald is actively engaged in Community Services. He also volunteered as Policy & Intelligence Officer for NZ – Auckland Civil Defence & Emergency Management over the past 15 years. Reginald Worked as Board of Manager and Minutes Secretary for the Balmoral Presbyterian Church over a period of 10 years. With the request, support and encouragement of Andhra Telugu People, he has accepted to lead the team as Founder President of MATA. He also holds the post of President of the Federation of the South Indian Associations New Zealand (FSIANZ). He hails from Kadapa District of Andhra Pradesh.

Srinivasa Prasad Sappa M.Tech

Vice President

Popularly known as Prasad gaaru in the Telugu Community of New Zealand, he migrated to New Zealand in 1990’s as a Charted Professional Civil Engineer. He is currently New Zealand Citizen and is working as Principal Development Engineer (Head of Development Engineering Team in Regulatory and Planning department) with Local Government, New Zealand. Having nearly 40 years of local and international experience in Civil Engineering, Srinivas Prasad has acquired a huge reputation and respect not only in the NZ Telugu community but also in the Indian community of NZ as a whole.

He dedicates his free time to community service and is mentor to different religious organizations and associations here in NZ. He is currently settled in Auckland with his wife and two sons who are also registered engineers. Srinivas Prasad hails from Krishna District of Andhra Pradesh.

Ghouse Majeed,MA, B.A.L,B.L, PGDIRPM&LW,PGDMM.

General Secretary

GhouseMajeed is a Citizen of New Zealand. He migrated to New Zealand in the year 2003.He is a Self-employed and dedicates most of his time to community service and organising cultural events. He is a part of many associations in NZ. Ghouse studied law and enrolled as an Advocate in India. He served as a student leader in Vijayawada. With his leadership qualities and organising skills, he is continuing in organising events in NZ.

He is a known face to show world in Auckland. He played an instrumental role in many shows. He has been serving as an events coordinator for Urdu and Hindi cultural associations of New Zealand by organising Mushaira, Sham-E-Ghazal and Kavi Sammelanevery year since 2012. Ghouse has been conferred with Sahitya Satbhavana Samman Award by Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan New Zealand. Ghouse is from Vijayawada, Krishna District of Andhra Pradesh.

Nandi Reddy Pratap Reddy, M.Sc, M.Tech

Treasurer

Commonly called as Pratap, he is one of the founder of MATA. Pratap came to New Zealand in 2002 as a visitor to explore business opportunities in NZ. With his work experience, he acquired residency in NZ. He studied here in NZ and established many business firms in Auckland. He is currently a NZ Citizen and is involved in community works associated with other organizations. He gives advice to many people in the community who wishes to do business and helps them to establish their businesses. He has kindly accepted the role of Treasurer for MATA. He hails from Nandyal District of Andhra Pradesh.

Durga Prasad Tala, M.Eng (Transportation)

Joint Secretary

Commonly called as DP in the Telugu community, came to New Zealand in 2002 as a visitor and subsequently acquired residency in NZ. He is currently a NZ Citizen and qualified Civil Engineer and planner. DP is currently working with NZ Transport Agency. He gives advice to many people in the community who wishes to pursue their career in engineering. He is actively engaged in coaching migrant engineers and students wishing to pursue their academic professional career in NZ. He hails from West Godavari District of Andhra Pradesh.

Dileep Maddukuri, B Tech, MBA

Executive Member

Dileep moved to New Zealand few years ago. He is currently a Permanent Resident of New Zealand.With his Management background, Dileep have held a variety of positions in the service leadership positions including food services in New Zealand.

He is actively involved in importing food and agricultural products from Andhra Pradesh into New Zealand. Apart from this, he has got excellent customer service skills. He is a very reputable person in the Auckland Telugu Community here in NZ, and is actively involved in many community-oriented programs. Dileep is from Prakasham District of Andhra Pradesh.

Praveen kumar Kaipu, BA, IHA

Youth Wing Coordinator

Praveen has a Bachelor’s Degree in hospitality. He has international exposure as a Chef and worked in many countries. He came to New Zealand in 2015 and started working as Chef in some of the famous five-star hotels in Aucklandand is currently working as Night Auditor in CORDIS Hotel. Praveen has a huge friend’s circle in the Indian community here in Auckland and he believes that he can convince all the Telugu speaking Andhra friends to become members of MATA. Praveen is from Kadapa District of Andhra Pradesh.

Bujje Babu Nelluri M.Pharm & PGD in HSM (Hospital Services Management)

Bujje Babu moved to New Zealand few years ago as a student and subsequently became a permanent resident. He currently works as Rehabilitation coach at Goodward Park Healthcare Ltd. He has excellent customer service and community work skills. On account of his active involvement in community work associated with the people of Andhra Pradesh (AP), the AP Government in India recognised his services and appointed Bujje Babu as Andhra Pradesh Non-Resident Telugu Society Provisional Coordinator. Bujje Babu is from Guntur District of Andhra Pradesh.

Peter John Vengala, AgB.Sc

Executive Member

Peter John Vengala Migrated to New Zealand in 1997.He is commonly called as John Sir in the Telugu community. He is a very popular person in the community and needs no introduction. Peter John works as Taxi Inspector for the Auckland Coop Taxi Limited. He is the first person from the Telugu community to attain share holder status in the Auckland Coop Taxi Limited. He encouraged others in the Indian community to join this organization and helped many people to earn their livelihood. Peter John hails from East Godavari District of Andhra Pradesh.

Harika Garikipati, B.Tech

Women’s Wing In Charge & Cultural Coordinator.

Harika is a classical dancer by profession and specialized in the lesser know dance form called Andhra Natyam. She works for Aaja Nachle which is Auckland's premier Bollywood Dance school NZ as an Administration Manager. Harika is responsible for organizing cultural projects for MATA. Harika also holds the position as an Executive Member in the Federation of South Indian Associations New Zealand (FSIANZ) Harika hails from Vishakapatnam of Andhra Pradesh.

Surya Kalyani Atmala, M.SC

Popularly known as Kalyani in the Telugu community, Kalyani is known is for her excellent community service. Currently working in the IT Industry. Kalyani arrived in NZ in 2004, since then, her family has been actively helping people of Telugu community

Praveena Daruvuri, M.Sc

Women’s Wing & Youth Wing coordinator

Praveena an IT Business Analyst by profession and core committee member of MATA. Praveena has a great passion for music and dance. She participates in MATA cultural activities and is an official anchor for all MATA activites. Praveena hails from Vishakapatnam in Andhra Pradesh.

Yamini Priya Kondapaturi, PGDM

Yamini is an IT Engineer currently working in the banking sector. She is inspired by the works of MATA and willing to render her free time to MATA by actively participating in community related events. Yamini is from Guntur District of Andhra Pradesh.
